Finally, our season is right around the corner. It feels like it has taken forever to get here. 2012 should be an exciting year for the Eagles, and hopefully, we can obtain our goal, and send off, Pottish, Goodwin, and Humphreys with the gold.
Pottish and Goodwin have had an amazing run, and have obviously provided us with many wins over the last 3 years. Who will be there supporting cast, and help get us over the top. We have many great players that could contribute to the cause. Here are few new players to keep your eyes on:
Eric Halpern: freshman, from Rye Brook, New York. Eric had a great fall by reaching the semi-finals of our regional ITA tournament. Eric lost to Pottish in the semi's, but took down the 3rd seed in the quarters. Eric's a very hard worker and I look forward to watching him play this season.
Brian Kowalski: freshman Tampa, Florida. Brian reached the quarter's before losing to Chris Goodwin. Brian is another player with a solid all-court game. Extremely fast, and does a nice job of closing points at the net. Brian's a great competitor and will be someone who will be competing for a spot in the lineup.
Alex Ruderman: freshman, Basking Ridge, NJ.. Alex also had an impressive fall and reached the other semi-final singles match. Alex, took the down the 4th seed before losing to Goodwin. Alex is a very smart and composed player and will be a big contributor this season.
Ian Wagner: freshman, Columbus, Ohio. Ian is an extremely talent player with an explosive game. Ian reached the quarters before losing to fellow teammate Alex Ruderman. Ian has a great deal of upside, he just needs to be consistent from match to match. Ian will hopefully be helping out in doubles this year.
Elliot Kahler: junior transfer,Carrollton, GA. Elliot brings a great deal of leadership and experience to our team. I expect big things from Elliot this season, and hopefully, he will really give us a lift in doubles. Elliot has a big all-court game and a lot college match experience coming from Kennesaw State.
